To Whom It May Concern:
I have known Randy Larson for over 10 years. As a walk-your-block volunteer for the American Cancer Society, Randy was the person I turned in money to for a number of years. He was always available and had a passion to see a cure for cancer due to the number of family members who had cancer.
In 2000, Randy became the first chairperson for the American Cancer Society Relay for Life of the Anoka Area. This event became very dear to me after my diagnosis of cancer that same year. The following year, I, too, became involved in the organizing of the next year’s Relay. Randy was instrumental in publishing a book of stories and poems of people touched by cancer that were up-lifting, positive and supportive to help raise money. Although I edited the book, Randy single-handedly raised half the money necessary to print Touched by Cancer Volume I. He currently serves on the Touched by Cancer, Inc. board of directors. You can read his story in Volume 1 and 2.
Randy chaired the Anoka Area Relay for two years. Now in its 9th year, Randy continues to participate in some form on the planning committee as well as be a team captain. He continually promotes the Relay through connections he has established over the years as well as constantly suggests ways to fundraise and/or promote the Relay.
Randy is genuine and sincere. He is dedicated to causes he believes in.
Sincerely,
